![]() If you’ve missed any of my previous ones, you can read them all here:īut let’s get back to hate-to-love. ![]() If you’re new to my blog, my Ultimate List is a monthly feature that I do on the last Saturday each month with my favorites in various categories, tropes, and whatever else. If you’re curious about the Anti Hero list, you can read it HERE. There are so many books that I wanted to put on this list, but they’ve also been in my previous ones and so I decided not to mix genres. A lot of the hate-love I read in my dark romances, but since that’s not everyone’s cuppa and I already made my ultimate list of Anti-Heroes, I decided not to be redundant and skip this particular genre. So much so, that when I started to put together my list, my brain began to hurt. ![]() So obviously what this means is that I’ve read a lot in this genre…like a lot. Something about the banter, that repressed sexual tension, the sparks that fly between the H & h when they argue yet you know they’re probably 2 seconds from jumping each other. Let’s talk about hate-to-love for a hot minute here, shall we? It just so happens that this is easily my favorite trope to read…EVAH. ![]()

Wait for Me is a Romantic Suspense novel by Elisabeth Naughton. Wait for Me by Elisabeth Naughton – a Review ![]() ![]() The novel's first five chapters comprise the Hugo-and-Nebula-nominated novella "Hatrack River," establishing Alvin's birth as a individual destined for both greatness and adversity. ![]() As per the title, Alvin Junior is the seventh son of a seventh son, born with unusual powers in a world where natural magics are common, if held in mistrust and outright fear by the conventionally religious. Seventh Son is about another gifted child, Alvin Miller, born under hardship to a pioneer family in an alternate America at the onset of the 19th century. With that novel, and other stories like his stunning novelette "Unaccompanied Sonata," Card's favorite thematic obsessions at this time tended to involve the loss of innocence in the face of the world's cruelty. Superficially, one notes an immediate resemblance to Ender's Game. It's a story of destiny set in a nation that, like the book's protagonist, is in its childhood, born in strife, with all of its hard lessons and growing pains yet to come. The first tale of Alvin Maker is both gentle and comforting, like a parent's embrace, and foreboding. ![]() Seventh Son has some of the most heartfelt and emotionally genuine writing of Card's whole career. ![]() ![]() As the SF world collectively held its breath for the third Ender novel, Orson Scott Card switched gears and delivered the first volume of an alternate history/fantasy saga that would grow to be as nearly revered as Ender's. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1, and the Avengers By Jonathan Hickman Omnibus Vol. 1, the Star Wars by Jason Aaron Omnibus, the Avengers By Busiek & Perez Omnibus Vol. ![]() When Star Wars returned to Marvel, Jason Aaron was the ideal candidate to steer the rebels into all-new adventures!
